Our Slightly Augmented Reality (2022)
Julia Duranleau et Marie-Pier Lachance (Québec, Québec / Quebec City, Quebec)

In a world where urban planning is often woefully unfitted to the needs and desires of children, this work lets us imagine something else: a playful city built in the image of children’s fertile imagination. In creative workshops at École Saint-Charles Garnier, artists Julia Duranleau and Marie-Pier Lachance gave students free rein to indulge their planning whims, then used AR technology to show how, by listening to the youngest members of our communities, we can learn to imagine a more colourful, luminous, and joyful world.
