Still Not My Story (2008-2022)
Vincent Olinet (Paris, France)

Floating on the surface of Bassin Louise is a mysterious four-poster bed, symbol of status and nobility since the Renaissance. This spectacular pastel example also evokes well-loved fairy tales, while seeing an object normally associated with the most intimate of spaces adrift, exposed to the public eye and elements alike, calls to mind a host of surprising scenarios.
Vincent Olinet creates lyrical paeans to the imagination that don’t shy away from the disillusionment of everyday life. He uses popular imagery to powerful metaphorical effect. His work has been shown in biennials in Japan, China, and Sweden, as well as the Voyage à Nantes summer art festival and Nuit Blanche in Paris.
This work was produced in collaboration with EXMURO arts publics.
