Forbidden Games (2022)
Eva Clouard (Paris, France)

A peculiar wooden playground has been placed in the greenspace around the train station, Place Jean-Pelletier. But not one of these traditional games can be played because the equipment has been pierced by tree trunks, an ironic commentary on the loss of enjoyment and play that adulthood brings. The work invites contemplation of the trees and of childhood memories spent in nature.
This work produced in collaboration with EXMURO arts publics.
Eva Clouard recontextualizes everyday objects and words to create conceptual and sensory dissonance. Through paradoxical forms and improbable shifts, she gently pokes fun at the absurdities of modern life. She has exhibited at international art fairs including Art Souterrain (Montreal), Partcours-Parkunst (Brussels), and La Quinzaine radieuse (Paris).
